The Opera Geek
Hi, I’m Kelli Butler, also known as The Opera Geek. I’m a coloratura soprano working and living in New York.
Professional Opera Singer & The Opera Geek
Raised in a military family, I developed a lifelong passion for opera and gaming. My formal training at the Purchase College Conservatory of Music, mentorship under renowned soprano Renata Scotto, and apprenticeship with Bel Canto at Caramoor laid the foundation for a dynamic career.
I've performed in many productions across the tri-state area and beyond, with notable roles including The Queen of the Night, Violetta, and Hannah Glawari. I continue my vocal training with acclaimed Canadian soprano Susan Eichhorn Young.
As "The Opera Geek," I bring my unique blend of artistic and gaming interests to my online community. I regularly stream Dungeons & Dragons™, other tabletop RPGs, and video games on Twitch, sharing my passion for both worlds. I've even co-created a Dungeons & Dragons™ subclass for the Bard, titled The College of The Opera.
I'm also an active advocate for Stream to End MS, an arm of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. By raising awareness and funds, I support those affected by MS, including my husband who has lived with the condition since 2016.
When I'm not on stage or streaming, I enjoy spending time with my husband Justin and our semi-famous dog Scotty, who is a purchaseable companion in the Dungeons & Dragons™ game Idle Champions.
I'm an open book.
